  • MBA, Stanford University
  • MA, Cambridge University (Emmanuel College)

John Jenkins has more than 40 years’ experience managing portfolios for high net-worth individuals as well as charitable entities such as endowments and foundations.  Upon completing his MBA, John entered the investment field as an analyst with the Bank of California, which led to several years as an investment manager.  In 1970, Charles Eaton hired him to build up Eaton and Howard’s California business. After 26 years with that firm and its successor, Eaton Vance, John founded his own investment counselling firm, Orford Capital, with a focus on high net worth individuals.  Orford Capital provided services to domestic as well as offshore clients with assets held in the UK Channel Islands, thereby developing expertise in the intricacies of managing offshore accounts. John has also acted as co-trustee for many years with major banks.

For recreation, John enjoys fly fishing in many locations and competitive sailboat racing on San Francisco Bay. Currently he and his wife enjoy attending the San Francisco Symphony and are involved with the San Francisco Opera Adler program.
