Ward P. Lindenmayer
Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager
“As my clients’ ‘financial doctor,’ I see my job as helping them maintain and improve their overall financial health.”
- MBA, University of California, Berkeley
- BA, San Francisco State University
- Chartered Financial Analyst
Ward began his career in the investment business in 1973 at Van Strum & Towne, one of America’s oldest investment counsel firms. He quickly developed a keen interest in helping people manage their financial affairs, but concluded that successfully doing so first required a proper analytical grounding. Beginning in 1977, he served as a securities analyst at Montgomery Securities, S.G. Warburg, and finally at Sutro & Company. In 1989, Ward returned to portfolio management as President of SDR Capital Management, and subsequently served as a portfolio manager at Nelson Capital Management and Garland Investment Management. He joined BTR Capital Management in 2011.
Outside of work, Ward has been an active member of his local community for many years, serving on various boards and committees including the Piedmont Board of Education, the Piedmont Council Boy Scouts of America, the Piedmont Educational Foundation, and the League of Women Voters of Piedmont.
In his spare time, Ward reads voraciously, dabbles in photography, and indulges his taste for Renaissance, Baroque, and Early Classical music. He periodically spends the better part of a Saturday or Sunday working his way through the multiple steps involved in preparing one of the recipes from Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
